I may be a bit of a minimalist with a generous place in my heart for the simple clean lines of modern design, but was very taken with this fusion of industrial pipework and semi-processed wood (I just learned the term is “live edge”). Its part of a collection by Akke 780 so check out the other pieces as well.
The Steam Collection was inspired by the sub-genre of science fiction called Steampunk. With an emphasis on fantasy and futuristic innovation, Steampunk incorporates steam power components into Wild West settings symbolizing human potential.
These pieces are constructed from iron steam fittings — often reclaimed, American, and vintage — combined with various species of live-edge wood, steel framed reclaimed timbers, cast cement, and/or glass.
